Welcome to the latest issue of Winning Spirit Magazine, a celebration of the incredible work and achievements within the Larry H. Miller organization.
At the end of September, the Larry H. Miller Company and the Salt Lake Bees celebrated 30 seasons of play at Smith’s Ballpark in downtown Salt Lake City. Smith’s Ballpark (formerly Franklin Covey Field and Spring Mobile Ballpark), has been the home of the Bees (formerly the Salt Lake Buzz and Salt Lake Stingers) since the minor league team moved to Utah in 1994. Over the years, we welcomed millions of fans and made unforgettable memories with our friends, family and community. As the Bees prepare to move to their new home in South Jordan, we look back on this chapter in our history with immense gratitude to our employees and dedicated fans for spending their summers with us. On October 16, Larry H. Miller Real Estate and Miller Sports + Entertainment marked a major milestone in the new ballpark; rolling out sod to ensure we can play ball in the spring.
The Larry H. Miller Company also welcomed David Smart to the Board of Directors. David spent 20 years in executive positions with the Ford Motor Company and is currently the CIO and CFO of a flooring, textiles and manufacturing company.
Also highlighted in this issue is our continuing dedication to enriching and investing in our community. Driven 2 Teach, an organization created by Larry H. & Gail Miller, sent 66 local history teachers across the country for a one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning experience. We also announced donations to preserve and uplift Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake and donations to local non-profits, which aim to provide affordable housing.
