Your “Give Us Five” Donations at Work

Donations from April through June –

Larry H. Miller (LHM) Charities donates to 501(c)(3) nonprofits toward programs that assist women and children in the communities where LHM Group businesses are located. Over the past few months, $175,000 has been contributed to programs that are enriching many lives.

A donation to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation is helping kids in foster care participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, music lessons, cheerleading and more.

The Corona-Norco YMCA shared thank you notes from the children who use their facility.

In California, Corona-Norco YMCA was granted funding for music education in day-care and after-school programs. Many of the children served by these programs come from low-income families.

A contribution in Colorado to Angels of America’s Fallen is helping children of fallen military or first responders to participate in positive mentoring and developmental activities. Funding provided to Pikes Peak United Way is enabling underserved women to access housing, insurance, job training and childcare. 

In New Mexico, a grant to CLNkids is supporting early childhood education programs that benefit homeless children. A donation to Roadrunner Food Bank is reducing food insecurity for low-income students and their families.

Spokane HOPE offers specialized services to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and a donation to its preschool and home visit programs is helping infants, toddlers and preschoolers prepare for kindergarten.

In Utah, contributions to Circles Salt Lake and Community Action Services supported programs that mentor low-income families and help them overcome intergenerational poverty. A grant to Valley Behavioral Health is providing therapy scholarships to families of autistic children, and a donation to Family Healthcare is enabling underinsured and uninsured pregnant women to receive prenatal care. Funding given to Youthlinc benefited an after-school program that teaches life skills to refugee youth. A grant to the DOVE Center supported a program for teens that focuses on preventing violence in relationships.

LHM Charities donated $10,000 to Community Action Services and Food Bank in Provo for the Circles Utah Valley program, which helps mentor and teach low-income families how to break the cycle of poverty.

Tabitha’s Way received funding for backpacks that will be filled with school supplies and given to students in need. A donation to United Way of Utah County went toward a summer learning program for underserved kids. Funding was also provided to Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, N.O.V.A. Principles Foundation, And Justice for All, Utah Infertility Resource Center, Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, and St. George Children’s Museum.
