May 5, 2022 – Larry H. Miller Real Estate’s Stephen James, Senior Vice President of Community Planning and Design, was a featured speaker at the One Utah Summit – the semi-annual gathering of government, business, community, and nonprofit leaders to discuss Utah’s economic topics and trends.
May 6, 2022 – The Utah Fetal Center and Intermountain’s Primary Children’s Hospital received a $15 million grant to strengthen the center’s fetal care and surgeries for expecting mothers. The effort inspired another gift of $50 million to start the initiative from philanthropist Gail Miller, owner and board chair of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and chair of the Intermountain Healthcare Board of Trustees.
May 18, 2022 – Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation and the Miller family hosted a celebration at the newly renovated Larry H. Miller Softball Complex at Big Cottonwood Regional Park. The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation donated $5 million for the renovations at Big Cottonwood Regional Park (Millcreek) softball complex and the construction of the Valley Regional Park (Taylorsville) softball complex.
May 23, 2022 – Salt Lake Bees infielder David MacKinnon was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week today. MacKinnon is the first Bees hitter to be named Player of the Week since Brennan Boesch on June 23, 2014, breaking a streak of 141 consecutive weeks without a Salt Lake batter winning the honor.
May 25, 2022 – Utah State Legislature passed a bill in the 2022 General Legislative Session requiring every K-12 female and unisex bathroom to provide free period products. The installation of the first period-product dispenser was installed at Hillcrest Junior High School on May 25, made possible through a generous $1 million donation each from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation and the Andrus Family Foundation.
May 25, 2022 – Larry H. Miller Company CEO Steve Starks was named one of three honorees when the South Valley Chamber of Commerce announced their selections for this year’s Titan Awards. The award recognizes leaders who have consistently demonstrated their long-term commitment to the community by giving back, being actively engaged, and making a significant positive impact.
June 1, 2022 – The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation welcomed approximately 50 displaced Ukrainian athletes, coaches and family members in an all-encompassing humanitarian and sporting initiative to provide a safe haven and training opportunities amid unrest and turmoil in their home country. The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation donated $200,000 to the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation to welcome Ukrainian athletes, coaches and family members to Utah.
June 3, 2022 – Minor League Baseball announced that Salt Lake Bees left-handed pitcher Jake Kalish was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month for May and first baseman David MacKinnon was named PCL Player of the Month.
June 14, 2022 – Helzberg Diamonds, one of the jewelry industry’s most innovative retailers, announced the retirement of Beryl Raff, the company’s chairman and CEO since 2009. Raff currently serves on the Larry H. Miller Company board of directors.
July 19, 2022 – Minor League Baseball announced Salt Lake Bees infielder Jose Rojas as the winner of the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week award for July 11-17 today. Rojas joins David MacKinnon as Bees hitters to win the award this season.

Weber State University will hold an event on August 24, 2022, for a naming ceremony and tour of the Miller Advanced Research Solutions Center in Clearfield.
The Gail Miller Utah Leadership Cup at Hidden Valley Country Club will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022. The annual event named for Gail Miller creates scholarships for current and future Salt Lake Community College students.
Thursday, September 15 marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed through Saturday, October 15. We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success
The inaugural Larry H. Miller Business and Philanthropy Summit will be held October 27–28, 2022, at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah. The event will invite key business leaders and community partners to collaborate, innovate and share best practices.
