Heroes Work Here

Andy Frasure, president of Advanced Health Care, introduces this new addition to the LHM Group of Companies

Advanced Health Care (AHC) currently owns and operates 23 transitional skilled nursing facilities and ten home health and hospice agencies in nine states throughout the United States. AHC has redefined the post hospital recovery and rehabilitation industry by building the country’s first free-standing, transitional skilled nursing facilities. These innovative facilities have set new standards in quality care and accommodations for patients in need of rehabilitation and nursing services after leaving the hospital and before returning home. In addition to inpatient skilled nursing, AHC also offers exceptional home health and hospice services. This coordinated continuum of health care provides the communities where we operate the highest quality of therapy and clinical services available. AHC facilities and in-home services are recognized as providing 5-star nursing care, inviting private accommodations, exceptional dining services, and outcome driven rehabilitation and therapy. Our commitment to clinical excellence and customer satisfaction affords each patient the ideal setting for post-surgery recovery.

AHC Nurses

Over the last 12 months, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every individual, family, organization and country in the world. All have felt disruptions to normal activities and most know of friends and family that have experienced health related challenges associated with this health crisis. Each of you have likely seen signs in the front of health care facilities suggesting that “Heroes Work Here.” Employees of AHC have been on the front lines throughout this COVID-19 battle and have responded in an inspiring way. Heroes really do work for Advanced Health Care providing essential medical services to the most vulnerable in our communities.

As a result of our high-performing clinical teams and reputation for providing 5-star quality medical services, AHC was asked to treat and care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Our teams of nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, physical and occupational therapists, food-service workers, housekeeping and laundry personnel stepped up like the heroes they are. Our home health nurses and caregivers were among the first to treat COVID-19 positive patients outside of hospitals. We modified our inpatient facilities to accommodate hospital overflow due to higher volumes of ICU patients. AHC also created many COVID-19 isolation units to safely and efficiently serve the patients in our communities.

The compassionate caregivers at AHC have put aside their own personal health concerns to put the needs of others first. Many of our employees sacrificed holidays and time with family to support other facilities requiring help during COVID-19 outbreaks. Many employees volunteered to travel to sister facilities to ensure adequate staffing and to support co-workers limited by positive infections. We saw administrators working day and night as nursing assistants in our COVID-19 isolation units to help cover all the shifts. We watched directors of nursing work shift after shift with their teams in order to care for patients. We had employees who worked more than 30-day stretches without a day off. There were hundreds of frontline nurses and caregivers who volunteered for extra shifts to ensure our ability to deliver quality care while offloading patient volume from local hospitals. We watched regional and corporate clinical leaders sacrifice holidays with family spending the holidays away from home to relieve weary nurses and provide much-needed clinical support in facilities with COVID-19 spread. Because our frontline employees are essential to providing patient care and treatment, our corporate staff members continue to come to work every day to provide the necessary support and assistance to our facilities and agencies so they can focus on those most impacted by this virus.

Throughout this pandemic, our employees have faced an incredibly challenging work environment with commitment and dedication, truly living our values of hard work and service. The past year has been grueling, but our team has responded in ways that deserve praise and recognition. Few of our employees consider themselves heroes, but they really are the unsung heroes who have enriched many lives by treating and caring for those who could not care for themselves during this difficult time. According to Webster’s dictionary, a hero is a person admired for achievements, who demonstrates noble qualities, and one who shows great courage. For this reason, we proudly proclaim that heroes indeed work for Advanced Health Care.
