Employees from the MAO IT department recently made a donation to Guadalupe School in Salt Lake City, where most of the students live at or below the poverty level and are experiencing insecurities in food, employment, housing and more. MAO IT provisioned 10 Mac notebook computers that had been cycled out of service, and reconditioned and reimaged them for this school whose students were hit hard by not having internet access at home during COVID. The school’s goal is to have 100% of their students attend summer school to get caught up. They will use the donated Mac notebooks in a video game class where they will teach the students to write code and create their own video games. They were very appreciative of Larry H. Miller for donating them.
”Just a note to tell you again how grateful we are to you and to Larry H. Miller Dealerships for donating those awesome MacIntosh computers to Guadalupe Charter School. Our tech guy, Flores, has already started setting them up for use by our students. We have a computer coding/video game class planned for Summer School where these excellent machines will be put to good use. Please convey our thanks to all of the fine folks at Larry H. Miller Dealerships and accept our special thanks, to you and to Juan, for coming to our school and allowing us to show you what we do.“ – Guy Lebeda, Development Officer Guadalupe School
