Associates of Larry H. Miller Management Corporation and Miller Family Office joined with 19 refugee families from Afghanistan, Somalia, Congo, and other African nations who resettled in Utah to form new friendships and celebrate the spirit of the season. Attendees also wrote note cards to welcome refugees from Afghanistan who will resettle in Utah in the coming months.
Dinner included cuisine from Somalia, Congo, Thailand, and the United States. As the group enjoyed flavors from around the world, Congolese dancers performed and three individuals shared their experiences as refugees. Employees and family members created welcome cards for existing and future refugees coming to Utah.
To conclude the evening, Gail Miller and Steve Starks shared remarks on the importance of building inclusive communities of belonging and encouraged associates to continue to support refugees as they resettle in their new homes and communities.
