Over the past few months, Larry H. Miller (LHM) Charities has donated more than $350,000 to programs that are helping women and children who live in the communities where the LHM Group conducts business. Your Give Us Five dollars have played a key role in helping us provide this support.
In Arizona, a grant to Make Way for Books is funding a bilingual literacy program for Tucson at-risk preschoolers and their parents. In the Phoenix area, a contribution to Hope’s Crossing is helping women who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, and incarceration. Donations to MentorKids USA and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley are supporting programs that assist underserved youth. TigerMountain Foundation received aid for its youth garden initiative, and a contribution to Ryan’s House is supporting programs that benefit children combating serious or terminal illnesses. Generous donations were also provided to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and United Food Bank.
Boulder Voices for Children (Colorado) was granted funding for CASA, a program where volunteer advocates assist juvenile victims of abuse as they navigate the court system. In the Denver area, a donation to Food Bank of the Rockies is assisting students who need nutritional support on weekends. A contribution to Food for Hope is supporting an in-school food bank for underserved students and their families.
Children’s Home Society of Idaho received funding for mental and behavioral services offered to children and families, while CATCH was awarded a grant for rehousing assistance for homeless families in the Boise area.
A donation to the New Mexico Dream Center of Albuquerque is supporting outreach programs that help women and teens involved in sex trafficking. In Spokane, Washington, funding for NAOMI will assist women who are struggling to overcome abuse, trauma, and dependency issues.
In Utah, grants provided to the English Language Center of Cache Valley (Logan) and Women of the World (Salt Lake City) are helping refugee and immigrant women improve their opportunities. Native American women and children in Utah are receiving support services through a donation to Indigenous International (Provo.) A contribution to the Utah Office of Multicultural Affairs is subsidizing leadership programs for youth from diverse communities, and underserved teens are being mentored via a grant to Stone of Hope Youth (Salt Lake City). A donation to Cottages of Hope (Ogden) is helping low-income individuals and families become financially literate and self-sufficient, while aid offered to Fit to Recover is supporting health and fitness programs that help women overcome addiction. Funding was also provided to Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County, Intermountain Specialized Abuse Treatment Center, A Center for Grieving Children, Root for Kids, YCC Crisis Center, Playworks, and The Children’s Service Society of Utah.
