LHM Megaplex Theatres Welcomes Guests, Reptiles, Heroes, and Heartthrobs Back to the Big Screen

Familiar film franchises as well as some original titles draw guests back to Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres for a blockbuster summer.

Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick soared to the top of the summer blockbusters at Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres. Active, reserve and retired military from all of Utah’s installations enjoyed special screenings and servicemember discounts while visiting Megaplex locations. Decades in the making, the Tom Cruise sequel earned a top five spot in the LHM Megaplex biggest movies of all time category.

Jurassic World: Dominion

Dinosaurs invaded Megaplex Theatres for the opening weekend of Jurassic World: Dominion. Fans were greeted by huge dinosaur characters and museum-quality fossil displays at select LHM Megaplex locations. Megaplex team members appeared along with the stars of the film franchise in a popular YouTube video series to help promote the film. The project was created in partnership with Universal Studios and has received more than 210,000 views online so far. Be sure to watch to the end of the video to see the Megaplex stars!

Lightyear

LHM Megaplex Theatres at The Gateway in Salt Lake City supported the Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival over Father’s Day weekend with a custom creation of the Disney Pixar Lightyear movie poster. Thousands of fans enjoyed the chalk art festival and later caught the opening of Lightyear at Megaplex Theatres.

Minions: The Rise of Gru

Even a despicable villain wannabe and his lovable crew of Minions drew big (and junior-sized) crowds to LHM Megaplex locations for the opening weekend of Minions: The Rise of Gru. A few lucky fans were able to pause for a photo with the overall-clad characters.

One of the Minion characters even found his way into the DJ booth of the Coca-Cola Studios traveling boom box that made a tour stop at the LHM Megaplex location at Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City.

Elvis

Fans of the “King” celebrated the opening of the Elvis biopic with legendary rock ‘n roll tunes and some classic cars outside multiple LHM Megaplex locations in northern and southern Utah.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Nearly 300 Marvel fans arrived at Jordan Commons before 5:00 a.m. to start a 10-hour Thor G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Thor) marathon. Guests enjoyed all four Thor movies and were among the first in Utah to see Thor: Love and Thunder. LHM Megaplex Theatres at Jordan Commons was one of only 12 locations in North America to host the special Thor movie marathon. Megaplex locations at Jordan Commons in Sandy, Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, and Geneva in Vineyard all finished near the top of the national rankings for the film that opened on more than 4,000 screens in the United States.

The big screen excitement continues at LHM Megaplex Theatres through the remainder of 2022 with even more blockbusters slated through the end of the year, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Avatar 2: The Way of Water, and many more titles.
