April 2021 Doing Good Give Us 5

Your “Give Us Five” Donations at Work

February Donations –

In recent months Larry H. Miller (LHM) Charities donated more than $100,000 to programs that are helping women and children who live in the communities where the LHM Group does business, and your Give Us Five dollars helped make that possible.

A donation in Arizona to the Assistance League of Phoenix is aiding students who need shoes, socks, underwear and coats. Operation School Bell ensures underserved children can focus on learning without the distraction or worry of torn, ill-fitting clothing.

Numerous charities in Colorado Springs, Colorado, received grants. A contribution to Springs Rescue Mission is providing shelter and recovery services to homeless women, while a donation to The Place is helping homeless youth. Funding granted to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity went to the Women Build program, where women are working together to construct a home for a single mother and her children. Child abuse victims and their families are receiving important services through a donation LHM Charities made to Safe Passage, a children’s advocacy center. Funding was also granted to Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation for its Colorado Springs branch.

In Utah, new parents are receiving education and support via Welcome Home Baby, a United Way of Northern Utah program. Funding donated to Open Doors’ Circles program is helping low-income families learn how to overcome intergenerational poverty. Uninsured or underinsured children in Utah County are receiving medical care through funding provided to Mountainlands Community Health Center. A grant to Utah Humanities Council’s Clemente program is enabling underserved high school students to participate in courses taught by local college professors, while a contribution to Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center is assisting kids and teens who are victims of child abuse.

Every dollar LHM Group employees donate to LHM Charities is matched by the Miller family. Even small amounts make a big difference when we all work together, so contact your human resources or payroll department for information on how you can sign up for Give Us Five.
